3…2…1…Let it Rip! Irish Beybladers prepare to battle for World Championship Qualifiers

Oct 17, 2011

Irish Beyblade fans and collectors are invited to compete at the Irish Beyblade Championship Qualifiers, which take place exclusively in Smyths Blanchardstown, Dublin on Wednesday 2nd November and Smyths Carrickmines, Dublin on Thursday 3rd November.

Beybladers aged 8-13 years will test their skills and strategy in a series of head-to-head battles in the hope of winning a place at the World Championships in Toronto, Canada in March 2012.

A series of Beyblade training bootcamps are also taking place ahead of the qualifiers at Smyths Toys around the country to help beybladers test their skill against the best around and prepare for this supreme challenge.

Upcoming Beyblade bootcamps will take place in the following Smyths stores nationwide and further details about the bootcamps are being posted on Smyths Toys’ Facebook page (www.facebook.com/smythstoys).

  • Tallaght, Sat, October 8th
  • Boucher Road, Sun, October 9th
  • Navan, Sat, October 15th
  • Waterford, Sun, October 16th
  • Naas, Sat, October 22nd
  • Kinsale, Sun, October 23rd

Two Irish qualifiers will be entered into a pool of 11 Beyblade National Champions from across Ireland and the UK. One of these eleven will be selected at random to travel to Canada for their chance at becoming the Beyblade World Champion.

Beyblades, from Hasbro are high performance spinning tops that you build, customise and battle in your Beystadium. Each Beyblade is as unique as its owner, involving the custom assembly of five key parts – the Bit, Attack Ring, Weight Disk, Sin Gear and Blade Base.

Hundreds of combinations are possible, each with a distinct battle style. Once in Beystadium the competing Beyblades collide, chase, avoid and otherwise engage one another in battle; the last Beyblade standing gets the glory.

Notes to Editor:

A Beyblade battle is packed full of action, anticipation and excitement! Beybladers launch their spinning tops into a stadium with the winner being the last top standing. Metal Fusion Beyblades are made of 5-parts making them customisable.

Skilled Beyblade fans and collectors can setup their chosen Beybalde top to behave differently depending on their opponent. When ready to battle the competitors countdown “3…2…1…Let it Rip!” before launching their rival Beyblade tops into the stadium. Simple to play, difficult to master!
