Changes in management and client support service at Walsh Public Relations

Jan 23, 2012

Online/digital and integrated marketing services enhanced

Walsh Public Relations, the corporate and integrated marketing PR consultancy, has announced a number of changes to its management and client support service.

Caroline Heywood MPRII, becomes joint managing director with responsibility for client service quality, HR and marketing.  Caroline has over twenty years’ communications consulting experience in all areas of public relations including consumer awareness, public information and stakeholder engagement.  She is currently Honorary Treasurer of the Public Relations Consultants Association Ireland and is the Walsh Public Relations’ representative with IPREX, the global network of over 70 independent PR consultancies.

Client support services at WPR have been further strengthened by two new strategic alliances, with Krishna De, online and digital specialist and Louise Shortall, integrated marketing consultant. Following a successful global career with Diageo, Krishna has worked across multiple sectors including FMCG, technology, professional services, financial services, education and non-profits. Louise has over 17 years’ strategic and operational brand management experience, gained in multinationals and SME's. She has proven expertise in brand strategy development, brand communications and commercial understanding.

The WPR client support service has also been boosted by the promotion of Vivienne Gleeson to client manager and the addition of a new client executive, Natalia McCarthy. Since joining Walsh PR in 2009, Vivienne has provided  communication services for a range of clients in the food, toys, games, health and pharma sectors.  She previously worked in DHR Communications and is a graduate of the Fitzwilliam Institute.  Natalia brings a variety of media experiences to her role in Walsh Public Relations. Following her graduation in media studies in 2009, she has had considerable research, writing, interviewing and media relations experience with internships in PR, radio, films and magazine publishing.  She is passionate about social media and has her own blog (www.fixatedonfashion.com), which has gained a wide audience.

“These changes are designed to allow us provide an enhanced level of service to existing and new clients,” said Jim Walsh, founder and joint managing director.

“They will bring a fresh impetus to our client service and offer a business model that provides our clients with a unique mixture of young talent and established consultancy experience in specific business sectors.”

Caroline Heywood added: “The inclusion of seasoned professionals with specific communication skills to our core team has been a positive experience for us.  Tara Mulvany, a former press officer with the Irish Farmers Association and corporate communications manager with Nestlé, has been part of our team for the past two years. The success of that partnership has led to the expansion of the business model to embrace digital, online and integrated marketing.”

For over 25 years Walsh Public Relations has been helping many indigenous and international organisations achieve specific communications goals in Ireland.

Walsh said: “By providing knowledge-based strategic advice and harnessing the skills and expertise of our executive team, we have added value to PLC’s and SME’s in a variety of business sectors, as well as NGO's and State bodies.”

Heywood added: “We are passionate and personal about delivering the very best results for our clients, whether it's on the basis of continuous full-service public relations support or one-off communications projects.”
