This privacy policy governs the manner in which Walsh:PR collects, uses, maintains and discloses information. It complies with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) effective from 25th May 2018 and other regulations relating to the collection, storing and and security of personal information.

The policy applies to the management of the company, its relationship with staff, clients, suppliers, partners and all other stakeholders. It relates to the Walsh:PR website, the company’s social media pages, all professional services offered by Walsh:PR and all professional activities that Walsh:PR engages in. 

 

1.         COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA THROUGH OUR WEBSITE

Our website provides the opportunity for users to contact us by completing the form in the Contact Us section. The information sought includes (1) name, (2) email address and (3) a message to the company. Providing this information is voluntary and by completing the form, the user agrees to being contacted by Walsh:PR in order to respond to their query. This information may also be used to monitor online traffic and site usage. The use of personal information for these purposes is outlined under Section 3. We do not share this personal data with third parties for commercial or marketing purposes. Where data is shared with third parties, it is done so for administration purposes only or where we are required to by law. 

 

2.         NON-PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION THROUGH OUR WEBSITE

We may collect non-personal identification information about users whenever they interact with our site. 5.         SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We do not sell, trade, or rent user’s personal identification information to others. Where personal data is shared with third parties such as couriers, postal services etc, it is done so securely for administration purposes only and under the understanding that these third parties are also GDPR compliant. We reserve the right to share personal data only if legally required to do so.

 

6.        WALSH:PR e-ZINE

Subscribers to the Walsh:PR e-Zine will have consented to receive it. A record of their consent will be held on file. Consent is provided with the understanding that the recipient’s contact details will be shared with Mail Chimp, the email automisation platform. 7.         DATA RETENTION

Personal data collected and stored by Walsh:PR is only retained for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. We recognise that personal data may not be retained indefinitely.

Users may find content on our site that links to the sites and services of our clients, suppliers or other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our site. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

 

9.        PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO RECORDINGS

Through the nature of our work, Walsh:PR uses the services of photographers and videographers on a regular basis. We only release or use photographs or videos when we have the prior consent of the person or persons being photographed or filmed. In the case of organised events, we use on-site signage to alert people that photography or filming will be taking place, so that they can express a preference not to be filmed or photographed if preferred.

 

10.    SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS

Walsh:PR currently holds a number of social media accounts. Plug-ins to our pages on these sites are visible on the Walsh:PR website and e-Zine. Followers or viewers of these pages must be aware that by accessing them, they are subject to the privacy policies of these specific social network sites.

 

11.     RECRUITMENT

Correspondence from job applicants (including letters, CV’s and personal contact details) to Walsh:PR will only be held on file with the consent of the applicant. The information will be stored for a period of time that has been agreed between the applicant and the company and will not be held indefinitely. 

 

12.     PEOPLE WE WORK WITH

Through the normal course of our work, we have reason to engage with a broad range of individuals with whom we have a legitimate interest to conduct our business. These include, but are not limited to clients, suppliers, representatives of the media, bloggers, stakeholders and many more. Personal data, supplied to us by these individuals during our contact, will be held in a central, up-to-date, secure database. This is to enable future contact with these individuals for legitimate business reasons. This information will not be shared with third parties unless we are required to do so by law. Personal data will only be held on file for as long as it is necessary for the purposes outlined above. 

 

13.     IF WE ARE CONTACTING YOU ON BEHALF OF OTHERS

From time to time, Walsh:PR may contact individuals for legitimate interest to conduct our business under the direction of, or on behalf of, our clients and/or other stakeholders. This contact may be in the form of a phonecall, email, letter or as a response to a query on a social media platform held by our client. In doing so, Walsh:PR is the processor of the personal data, on behalf of the client, who is the controller. This data is only disclosed to the processor and the controller for the purposes of professional relations and for as long as is necessary for the purposes outlined above. It will not be shared with third parties unless we are required to do so by law. 

 

14.    ACCESS TO COPIES OF PERSONAL DATA

Individuals have the right to request access to their personal data that Walsh:PR may hold. They also have a right to have their personal information edited or removed from our database. To make any of these requests, please contact info@walshpr.ie.

Walsh:PR has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page.
